About
The work of Victoria Ezquerra, is the result of a great inner work, a personal exploration and a very acute sense of observation.“a big part of my inspiration to create my work is based on the seven principles contained in the book of the Kybalion”.
SEMBLANCE:
Victoria Ezquerra was born in Mexico City, daughter of the Mexican architect, of Spanish origin, Jose Luis Ezquerra de la Colina, winner of the 1993 National Architecture Award.
Degree in Interior Design and Art History by Motolinia University of Pedregal. Director Interior Design at Ezquerra y Asociados for more than ten years.
From an early age, dabbles in drawing and painting, carrying out various studies in Mexico, Japan, Spain and the United States, where she got the knowledge necessary for
the creation of her artistic work.“I grew up in a family of artists, which increased my taste and interest in art.
Part of her training was alongside teachers such as Roger Von Gunten, Luz García Ordoñez and the Spanish artist Fernando Calderón, among others.
Her style goes from the figurative to the abstract, giving priority to abstraction, where she has her own expressive language.
With line, color and composition, ponder on nature, the sublime of the spirit and constant movement, creating apparently arbitrary forms and, at the same time, harmonious. The viewer is involved in a universe of shadow, light and color, where the artist invites us to gain
knowledge of ourselves.
“The painter paints himself and the viewer sees himself” Oscar Wilde.
By intertwining the lines, it achieves three-dimensionality with her own style. Her works make us reinflex, internalize, think and immerse ourselves in an intense, deep and almost
endless meditation. It suggests us to enter the spirit through her vision, like a window that samples that we have forgotten within ourselves. She invites us into her world, which is also ours, and also through her colors and compositions to an experience of self-knowledge.
